I’m personally very much looking forward to Planetside 2 as a free-to-play game that doesn’t require the spending of money, but that (apparently) offers great team based FPS play. For a casual pick-up-and-play FPS, I’m betting that Planetside 2 will be replacing Destiny for me. I really enjoy Warframe’s graphics (very sharp/smooth 1080p/60) and the huge, expansive environments, but the ultra fast-paced action and the art-style is a bit of a turn-off to me.
But I will give it more time before I definitively state whether I like it or whether it’s not for me — some things have a way of growing on you. Most Game stores are too small to actually have people in them for very long.
That’s because overhead is insane, and all that space you might have people hanging out it in is wasted $/square foot on your lease except for maybe 3 times a year. If you’ve been in a Gamestop recently, if there’s some not out of business near you, you’ll notice that you can barely walk between the racks of games for all the crap they have to cram in there to try to tempt you to buy enough for them to make rent. It’s a tough living right now, with Amazon and Ebay and Humble Bundles and Steam eating their lunch left and right, for often less than half of what they can charge and still make a profit. War Thunder, Planetside 2 and War Frame are also for PC on steam. I wonder if we get to play against each other?
We meaning us PC users vs console. Doubt it, since most console users, use a controller. The argument is mouse and keyboard are not fair competition for aiming. But it would be nice to see the console and pc merge in multiplayer.
War thunder is made by gaijin. They have another flying game called start conflict. Doubt that’s ported to consoles. Star Conflict is another free to play title that’s awesome. As with all free to play, its still pay to grind a little less. But the myth pay to win just a myth.
I still think if you like the game you should at least buy a few dollars worth of content. Otherwise the free to play can not exist. That’s why I call that sort of game Freemium. You CAN play for nothing, you CAN unlock a bunch of stuff, but it’s so much easier if you “buy the game” and it unlocks all that stuff for you immediately. Paying isn’t required to have a fun time, but paying can certainly unlock a higher level play experience immediately. The longer games like that go on however, the more required it is that you buy in just to be on par with the other people who didn’t buy in, but instead invested hundreds of hours to unlock stuff the hard way. And while that’s not bad in and of itself, it incentivizes game developers to enhance the difficulty or slowness of the “Grind” because the more obnoxious barriers they throw between the game and the customer, the more likely it is that someone will throw money at the game to make them go away.
I would rather everyone pay 10 or 20 dollars upfront, and be on the same par as someone who bought the game a year ago. The person who bought in a year ago may have earned trophies and badges and fancy outfits and costumes and titles and junk, but they shouldn’t be any more difficult to play against, aside from skill, than someone who started playing this morning. Free to play doesn’t have to exist, honestly. Most people can afford a couple dollars if they like a game, based upon a demo or watching someone else play on youtube or in person. There aren’t 1000 most popular games everyone would have had to buy, 80% of time people spent playing Steam Games (Many of them FTP) was spent on the top 20% of most popular games. For about 150 dollars you could buy a copy of the top 15 popular game on steams, and probably from humble bundle you could get it for 100 or less, even nearly free in some cases. One could sue Sony (Play Station 4 scam) for all that false talking and false promises today one gets near almost double game price on PSN whole 3 pictures of game screenshot which aren’t even in-game screenshots.
If there is any info material over the game they sell on PSN at all!! On my opinion PS4 is one of the biggest scams Sonny pulled out lately! Don’t tell me there is no place for decent game description on PSN servers, don’t tell me stories about how every game will have demo (yea right). There is absolutely nothing better on PS4 compared to PS3. Wtf are you even talking about? If you are going to bother being a hate-filled, spiteful fanboy the least you could do when spewing such vitriol is be coherent. Now, after attempting to understand your issues.: Sony has a detailed overview of every product or service right on the ps4, and more to the point, if there is more data you demand t is on the publisher of that product to furnish such, and this is usually found on their own websites. As for demos, previews, screenshots, trailers. These again are on the publisher, and on psn they are clearly listed as such. Some have in game video or screenshots, some don’t, others still provide a demo, ALL UP TO THE PUBLISHER. False promises: really haven’t seen much of these.

You can also type with any keyboard It takes time to send a message on any device without a full size kb (such as your phone), not sure why this is so surprising to you. And you complain about having to go into a menu when in game. This is something you simply can’t avoid one cannot simply do something like texting a message while doing another. An issue enough when it comes to driving try hitting pause (what??? Games can be paused!!!!???) your tears seem awfully exaggerated.
Game pricing. They are the same price as they have been all of 7th gen. It really hasn’t changed and no, do not compare the price of an 8 year old title in a bargain bin to a new release 8th gen title NONE OF THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE ARTICLE, which is about the plethora of free games on PS4.
