Click to expand.No. You cannot downgrade an official firmware 3.55 with a PUP. You must use a hardware flasher to do it. You cannot install a CFW on your cechl console running OFW 4.81 without using a hardware flasher, like Teensy or E3 along with a NOR clip, unless you are good at micro soldering, to first reprogram the NOR chip with the 3.55 fw. Then and only then you will be able to install your CFW with a PUP. E3 flasher will set you back about 45 to 60 bucks with the clip included whereas a Teensy is about 20 bucks & the 360 NOR clip about 30 or 40, there's a neat Teensy2ps3 pcb board costing 10 bucks which can come on handy is some situations.

Roughly both flashers are the same price. Note that a decent professional will do the job, reapply paste, clean your console, then install the CFW of your choice for about 40 to 60 bucks too.

You will need to acquire some skills as well to do the job yourself so if you feel comfortable with it all go ahead otherwise consider using a pro to do it for you. Just so you know they are still blue on the ingame XMB in the PSN category. I have posted 2 RCOs above with all blue icons, These are modified RCOs specifically for this FW, I have taken the text files from the Rebug RCOs used in this FW and put them in with the images from the standard 4.81 RCOs, so the result is: ALL blue icons and it still has the correct text entries for Rebug's Package Manager, I also had to change the name of one icon in the package manager for it to match the categorygame.xml of this FW as something must have changed along the line.

Note: The explorepluginfull RCO from Ferrox 4.81 NON Cobra is almost 200KB bigger than the one in this, not sure whats going on there, I need to investigate. Click to expand.

I haven't been keeping pace with the PS3 as I should but my GF is getting pissy not being able to use Hulu and Vue. I installed the vanilla variant of this and using PSNPatch to auto load plugins for fan control. I would much rather than work via Cobra. Normally I would just spoof but the new CA has me spooked so my slim we use for media purposes is on Ferrox 4.81 and I will be doing the Cobra upgrade tonight I hope as the webMAN plugin that comes with PSNPatch is dated but I don't game on it at all.

Click to expand.Yes they will both work on this CFW as long as it is running webMAN MOD. XMBM+ and XMBPD will work by installing the pkg from and then using the categorygame.xml that aldostools links to (see his quote in the first post). If you use that xml you will maybe lose package manager though. This FW possibly used old versions of the Rebug xmls I think and that is why it doesn't have the entry for XMBM already included, or maybe just didnt want to include it.

For Launchpad its not quite so simple, It does work right now as it is, but at the moment it breaks PS2/PSP support. Really I will need to release an updated version of Launchpad with the correct sprx and cobra hashes. Will do that as soon as I can figure it out.

Before updating, remove your Game disk, this may cause your ps3 to update to the version that came with the game and make your ps3 unable to downgrade without hardware flasher! First Download the Rogero 3.55 Downgrader , copy the file on your USB stick in the UPDATE folder like the image below: Now plug the USB stick in your PS3, navigate to Settings-System Update and choose to update from “Storage Media”: Now verify that the version is ‘3.55 Rogero – Downgrader”, then hit X Your PS3 will now restart and start downgrading the firmware. When done, your PS3 should restart and you should see the Rogero boot logo, to verify you are on 3.55, navigate to “System Settings - System information”, it should say 3.55: Your PS3 is now downgraded to 3.55, however this is not a fully functional firmware we will need to convert this 3.55 to any CFW to get back jailbreak functionalities. Download the QA-flag files (Dowload ), copy the.pkg file on your usb stick and install the software on your 3.55 PS3: Now start the QA-enabler: The screen should turn black, your PS3 should beep 2 or 3 times and then go back to the home screen.

Now to verify you qa flag is enabled, go to network settings. You will not be able to install any CFW yet, the syscon version is 9.99 so we need to fix this with the 3.55 rogeros firwmare: Copy the file on your USB stick (overwrite the downgrader file) and insert the USB in your PS3, now go to Update and choose to update from Storage Device. Now your ps3 will update and restart to 3.55 rogero CFW. T o check if the firmware installed correctly go to system settings - system information: the firmware should say 4.25 however the firmware installed is 3.55, the 4.25 is just a version spoof so the firmware runs newer games and eventually can connect to PSn. This is a functional firmware however it is recommended to update to a newer CFW.
